...of Bluegrass and Toyotas
They've got this really cool and unique program in the Greater Cincinnati area called The Fine Arts Fund. Basically, to insure that the Arts will survive and continue to have the funding they need they ask regular folks like you and me to consider having a small bit of change taken from our paycheck to go to support the Arts. There are few, if any programs like this in the US. (I'm hoping SOMEONE will correct me on that!)
Before I left for my Kansas Tour I received a request to perform a benefit for the Fine Arts Fund at TOYOTA of AMERICA Corporate offices in Erlanger Kentucky. On this nippy but sunny Tuesday Peg and I hopped in my 2005 Scion XB (made by Toyota) and cruised to northern Kentucky. We ended up performing during lunch hour IN the cafeteria. Although it's a rather strange mix between annoying those who wanted a quite lunch, being the jukebox in the corner and having fans coming up saying it's great to see you, it's a fun gig! Not to mention a worthy cause!
More about the WONDERFUL Scion XB in a future blog...
