"Every song's been sung, but this one..."
DAVE HAWKINS
Singer Songwriter, Storyteller
“Dave is a rare find in this world of hyped, derivative and bottom line-driven music. … he has broadened his work to include many influences from the best of rich musical forms usually found elsewhere in the world."
—Ian Anderson —(Jethro Tull)
“Whether Dave Hawkins is singing about the river rolling on or the dying embers of love, he’s most interested in putting the song across than making it on CMT. Bravo to him.”
—Sing Out Magazine
“It’s so moving to see and hear the legacy of my own inheritance of music carried on.”
—Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary)
MEET DAVE
Singer/songwriter Dave Hawkins has been touring and recording professionally since 1975. Since his early career playing college folk clubs around Columbus, Ohio, Dave has expanded his core repertoire to Americana—an amalgam of “non-corporate” country, roots rock, folk, and other styles, including Celtic-crossover tunes.
Although Dave has performed and recorded with such international stars as Sam Bush, Aoife Clancy, Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), and Peter Yarrow (Peter Paul & Mary), he loves the energy and intimacy of smaller and more informal venues. When not in Nashville (signed with Mountainside Music Publishing, Nashville) or on tour, he plays in clubs and music halls throughout the region.
In addition to his solo career, Dave is bandleader of the Americana band, THE PERFECT MEN, and performs in a duo with fiddler Peg Buchanan.
